It started with a joke.
Everyone in Finland has heard it: the Swedish-speaking Finns have slightly better pay, slightly better houses, and slightly better clothes. A joke that has followed us for generations – sometimes with a wink, sometimes with a sigh.
We decided to take it back.
Lite Bättre was born in the autumn of 2026 in Turku – the city where Finnish and Swedish have lived side by side for centuries. The idea was simple: if we are going to be slightly better, we might as well do it with style and a twinkle in our eye.
That is why we make things that we ourselves would like on our walls, at our Christmas table, and in our summer cottages: posters featuring our towns, calendars featuring our holidays, and cards featuring our humor. Everything is designed by us – in deep sea blue, linen, and with a little gold crown replacing the dots in the letter ä. After all, you have to be a little better.
This is what we believe in
- Pride without snobbery. We are proud of our language and our traditions – without looking down on anyone.
- Humor without an edge. We laugh at ourselves, never at others.
- Two languages, one community. Lite Bättre is for Swedish-speaking Finns, bilingual families, Finnish-speaking friends, and everyone who has a Swedish-speaking Finn in their life.
- Slightly better quality. Things that last, and that you want to give away.
Vähän parempaa – for those of us who are a little better.
